Worker Registration SchemeNationals of Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia or Slovenia may enter the UK and may be self employed without the need to make any application to the BIA. However, if they take employent, they must apply, with the support of the UK employer, for a residence permit under the Worker Registration Scheme. To apply applicants must have been working in the UK legally for at least 12 months without continuously, or have been working as a self-employed person in the UK, or have been living in the UK as a full-time student, or as a retired or self-sufficient person.
