Tier 4 - Students. This tier level is expected to commence early in 2009. A university or other recognised UK institution of higher to attain tghe required number of points to be able to enter the UK as an international student. Students will have to show that their studies are adequately privately funded, or that their own Government is sponsoring them.

On graduation from an eligible UK educational institution, students will be able to apply for a Tier 1 visa under the Post-Study Work arrangements for up to two years.

The International Graduate Student scheme currently in operation will continue under Tier 4.
