Tier 1 This level relates to Highly Skilled persons, Entrepreneurs and Investors. Applicants must achieve 75 points which is broken down into aspects of educational qualifications, high level work experience, proven business or self-employment skills, or ability to invest a substantial sum into the UK. Applicants must have ability to communicate in English language, and must have sufficient funds to maintain and accommodate themselves (and any dependents) for the start of their residence in the UK without recourse to public funds.

Applications are usually made through a British Embassy abroad and are decided on the basis of original documents that you will be asked to produce. These documents are vital to the success of the application, and there must be no doubt as to the genuineness of the information contained in the documents, as this information may be checked by the Visa Officer.

It is not necessary to have a guaranteed job ready for you in the UK, as long as it is clear that the skills you have will enable you to find employment or establish yourself in self employment or business. Please study the three main subject headings under Tier 1 for more information.
